Committed to Organic Farming
At Château Bardins, which is certified organic, we are deeply committed to an eco-responsible approach. Respect for the estate’s ecological balance guides the daily decisions involved in vineyard management. Great care is given to vine cultivation, with soils worked entirely without the use of chemical products. Our vines are protected using sulfur, copper, and plant-based infusions. Vineyard work is carried out by hand (shoot thinning, bud removal, leaf removal, harvesting, etc.).
In the cellar, for winemaking, we use indigenous yeasts naturally present on the skins of the grapes.
Caring for Biodiversity
We strive to maintain a balance between cultivated areas and natural spaces, allowing wildlife to move freely across the estate. A true green lung on the doorstep of Bordeaux, Château Bardins brings together vineyards, forest, meadows, and wetlands, each with its place.
To help control insect populations, birds and bats are invaluable allies. We encourage their presence by preserving the cracks they favour during building renovations and by installing nesting boxes throughout the vineyard.
Our sheep help weed the vines while enriching the soil with their natural fertilisation. This semi-free-range grazing provides natural manure and is a win-win approach for both nature and the vineyard.

The History of Château Bardins
As early as 1350, traces of the Bardins (or Bardey) mill can be found on the Eau Blanche stream, which flows below the estate. The vineyard, ideally located on the first slopes of Bouscaut in Cadaujac, is of great antiquity: it already appeared on the map of Pierre de Belleyme, royal geographer and engineer under Louis XV.
Camille de Sigoyer, born in 1870 on Réunion Island, settled in Bordeaux and married Marie Vincent, the owner of Château Bardins. Their son Christian and grandson Yves continued to manage the estate and its winemaking activities. Today, their great-grandchildren — Stella, Christol, and Edith — are dedicated to preserving the integrity of Bardins. Stella focuses on vine growing and winemaking, while Christol, based in Réunion, markets the wines there.
Extensive renovation and improvement works have been carried out to preserve this family treasure. Recent projects include the renovation of the fermentation cellar, the restoration of the château roof, and the refurbishment of gutters and drainage channels to ensure proper rainwater flow.
